So after many months of rumours, Fujifilm finally announced the X-H1. X-H is a reverse-play of the abbreviations for Hyper-X. Like most of the bodies that come out of Fujifilm, I’m sure it’s a solid camera.

My question is, who is this exactly for? And why is there a need to amalgamate the new features it brings into a new product line?

If you’re an existing X-T2 owner, is it worth the upgrade? Probably only if you find the lack of In-body Image Stabilization a must-have for the many prime lenses.

If you’re looking to move seriously into video, I personally think that there are better options out there such as the Panasonic GH5. The main dealbreaker for me is the lack of 4K60. Being able to shoot at 60 frames per second gives you creative freedom to slow down your shots for a cinematic feel.

If you’re looking to migrate to the Fujifilm X ecosystem, then it might be a worthy candidate as the “best” X body you can get your hands on at the moment. Do note the larger size and weight compared to the X-T2 if your main reason for migrating is to downsize.

Which brings us to the main question. What happens when the X-T3 is released with a newer sensor, but without IBIS? What’s the one Fujifilm body you should be carrying around then?
