Noise Deck privacy

Your decks and audio

Noise Deck stores deck names, sound names, ordering, appearance choices, source information and imported audio in a shared container on your device. The app and its widgets use this container. Local preferences and a device writer identifier help save settings and reconcile edits.

Optional iCloud sync

When sync is enabled and iCloud is available, deck data and imported audio are sent to your private CloudKit database, operated by Apple. The three bundled sounds are not uploaded. Noise Deck remains usable locally without iCloud. Apple’s account and service policies apply to iCloud.

Audio links and sharing

Opening a direct audio link contacts the server hosting that file. That server receives connection information such as your IP address and the requested URL. Shared deck files contain the deck’s sounds, audio and metadata. The people and apps you share them with receive that information.

Tracking and permissions

The current app has no advertising or analytics SDK and its privacy manifest declares no tracking or collected data types. It imports files you choose and does not request microphone access. This website has its own analytics and privacy disclosures, separate from the app.

Keeping and removing data

Deck data stays on your device until you change or remove it. Removing a deck keeps sounds still used elsewhere and removes unreferenced imported audio locally. Sync updates the cloud deck, but turning sync off does not erase the iCloud copy. Shared files, backups and recovery copies may remain separately. A complete cloud-erasure procedure is still being verified before launch.
